Life as a mom is amazing and somehow the days just fly by. I suddenly realized that it's been over 2 weeks since I posted and I'm sure everyone thinks Isa and I have dropped off the face of the Earth. :) Nope- we've just dropped in the Mommy Zone (which is similar to the Twilight Zone when you remove the diapers and bottles).
Isa continues to be an amazing little one. She's active, vocal (VERY vocal), and happy, happy, happy. The only time she cries is when she's hungry and even then the crying is rather pathetic. She's louder when she's "talking" than when she's crying! Here is a typical Isa moment:
We continue to work on her developmental milestones- she's really not too far behind. Last week I sat her up and she stayed! I frantically ran into the livingroom for the camera and when I got back, she was still upright. (I have since learned to always travel with the camera, even within my own house.....)
We do tummy time every day and Isa pushes up really well. She gets incredibly annoyed at being on her tummy but despite my help with practice rolls, had yet to figure out how to get herself over all on her own. Today, however, she figured it out!
We go to the doctor's next week, so I'll be able to give everyone the official height/weight stats. I was waiting for an insurance issue to clear up in order to be able to make an appointment with the UWMC Adoption Peds Clinic and happily, everything is in place now. So far Isa B is healthy as can be- her little cough seems to be primarily from all the drool from teething. I can't wait until her little teeth come in and no longer soaks her clothes with drool!
Now, if I could just get her to sleep through the night........

Hi! I just found your blog linked on a friend's blog. We were actually together coming home on the flight from Addis to D.C. We sat across from you. We were the ones with the little baby boy. It is neat...when I saw your blog I instantly recognized your little girl. It looks like she has grown so much just in these few short weeks. Nathan Mussie has too.
Take care,
Amy

Hey! Love the pics - she is looking great (someone must have some good taste - what cute clothes).
Anyway, we down in the desert are thrilled and are looking forward to meeting Isa B in person soon!
Have fun in the Mommy Zone.
How's Squiggs doing with his new sister????
Yay Isa!!!
Kerri and Ruby
Adorable! I can't believe how happy you must both be to be together. Much love to you both
I love the "turning over" video. By the way Mom, you did a great job coaching and encouraging her! I can see she's like a fried egg - she likes to be "sunny-side up"! She's certainly a determined little one!

P.S. Tell us the truth. Do Isa's socks match her hair accessories? I just want to know how much coordinating you're really doing! Are you goin' for the total look from head to toe? Your mom better keep her foot to the sewing machine pedal. She's gotta keep those outfits comin'!
She is just beautiful!
